im looking to buy a sd card to put into my ds but ive been reading that you need the r4 card or can i receive a bog standard sd card. if i cant use a bog standard one where can i buy a r4 card on the high road (uk) or do i have to go through the internet. im trying not to go through internet as id rather buy it from a retailed store. do places lie currys or game sell them. im so so confussed! please someone help me. im really unsure of what to do.

Last week I had to unavoidably go into a shopping centre (mall) to buy something, it was full of overpriced, cheap, nasty, largely Chinese products, displayed as 75% off, reduced, in a sale or with some other inducement to purchase. Do people really part with their money in this synthetic environment, believing these inducements? No wonder consumers need retail therapy, these places should carry a Government health warning, not fit for human consumption! Knownout-a perfect example of my point, why do you think centres give you value for money? Because on the window it says 50/60/70% off ? Its fantasy, a typical Chinese products on the High road retailing @ £50, cost 50p, at the factory. Thats value for money? What do I buy? The question I ask myself is does this product have any intrinsic value? If it has no value after I have walked out of the store and its secondhand, then it is valueless and I have been fleeced. China, it is true produces cheap manufactured goods, some of good quality, but this is of no benefit to the consumer, how many "British Premium" brands moved sourcing to China to benefit from cheap labour but maintained their premium pricing. Chinese goods cost typically 1% of the UK retail price at the "factory gate", a £50 item on the High St costs 50p at source. These "British brands" where given the OK from the Government to omit Country of Origin from products to facilitate this huge profiteering and ring fence the Banks profits in the exchange rate system. Add to this the social consequences of exporting jobs and industry to a competitor and it's not difficult to look why we are in the mess we are, with the fortunate few getting richer at the unwitting consumers expense.

I've been to three different luthiers today to ask about the value of a violin I recently bought from some lady. I bought it because the tone was a lot nicer than the violin I had and the other violins I played at the store at around that price range. The label says it's a Friedrich August Heberlin (NOT of the Heberlein family, I doubt it. Just some other violin Maker). I've done some research and other violins of his has been sold for around 1,500-2,500 dollars.. Mine is dated 1903... so it's about 107 years old. A bit worn out on the edges, but otherwise in fine condition with new strings and every that jazz. And the tone was a lot better than the 800 dollar retail Glaesal violin I was using. I'm really curious how Luthiers determine the value of a violin since they were every of different minds of it... One luthier said it wasn't of his skill level to evaluate it, but said it was a good violin, and if it was of the Heberlein family (which I know it is not), it'd be worth in the thousands and if it wasn't then it's a good copy of one. Another said it wasn't worth much... max 250 dollars. Said that there were 2 surface cracks on the violin on the lower edge. Personally, I don't think every antique violins aren't without their scratches and cracks... and it wasn't close the soundboard. The other Luthier estimated it to be around 1,200 dollars. None of them even listened to the tone of the violin. Is the tone even to be considered? Is having an old violin worse than having a new one? : / I'd feel really awful though if I spent my money on an essentially worthless violin.

As you know, summer is quick approaching and many people, myself included, are starting to look for summer jobs. I used to know a person who had worked at the CN Tower and they told me that they really enjoyed it and so I think it would be a good idea for me to apply there. I HEARD from somebody else, and i'm not sure if this is true, that you have to be atleast 18 years old to work there. I am 17 (completing grade 11) and I do have work experience. I worked for the past two summers (and spring+fall) and have a lot of experience. The position I want to apply for is Seasonal Retail Sales Associate 2010. I am 19yo and am 3weeks into my new job in retail at a custom picture framing place. They have video cameras at each store. I was on 2 shifts by myself throughout the week and on the 1s shift I was very busy with customers which rarely happens and it was my first time dealing with customers by myself with custom framing jobs. As you would expect I was a little flustered as you would be having 3 customers lined up at the same time but that was the only problem I saw, but in the end I got the orders right and every were glad. The 2nd shift was a short and uneventful shift and I rang the girl who was working at the other store, asked her a work related question but we then got sidetraked and started talking socially for about 20mins. During this time I was also cleaning and reaaranging the already immaculate looking store. I phoned her a second time to clarify something I had done on the till and we talked for 10mins and then a third time to ensure I had done something correctly. When I turned up for work this morning, the girl I was working with for the day gave me a heads up saying that she heard that the boss had watched the surveillence tape of the shifts I had done by myslelf and was very unhappy with me, saying that they thought more of me. Surely after she told me I recieved a phone call from my boss. My boss told me they were very very upset and disaappointed in me, saying that I dealt with customers wrong, did everything the wrong way when quoting and then said I was on the phone not doing anythng for 1.5hours that night! I began to defend myself saying that I did everything right with the quoting and that every customers were glad. BUT she said that I didnt achknowledge customers when I did! She cannot tell this from watching a tiny screen without sound!!! She then said that on my next shift in a couple of days that she is going to sit with me as we both watch the video of me on those shifts and tell me everything I have done wrong! I KNOW that I should not have been on the phone to another employee for so long but initially it was work related and then I admit it did go for a while but no one entered the store. I feel 100% crushed. I do not want to be made to watch the tape. I know what I have done wrong and it wont happen again and I have told her that but she still insists on watching it. I feel it is over the top. The boss has no idea that the other emplyees are on the phone to one another for hours some days! I dont want to dob others in but I hate feeling like I am the only one who has done wrong. We (myself and the other emplyees) do so much good and never receive praised but always critiqued and yelled at. I feel that some positives as well as the negatives would be great coming from the boss but i dont know how to mention that to her also... Is my boss being unreasonable? What should I say? Do i defend myself or not bother? Sorry it is so long but I would adore some advice!
I work inside of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport...home of 300,000 people that go in and out on a daily basis. It's a pretty disgusting place...people sneezing and coughing everywhere without even attempting to cover their mouth at every. Also, the air is apparently recirculated. I work inside of a retail store and we have to dust multiple times a day (with swiffers that attract it, as opposed to a simple duster that scatters it everywhere) to receive the thick layer of dust off from the products we sell. every of the shops there seem to have this problem. I've had strep throat 3 or 4 times in the 9 months that I've worked there. I've also had Herpangina once. Several months ago I had what was thought to be an upper respiratory infection. Tons of phelgm that just seemed to constantly build up back there in between the nose and the throat - which would cause me problems when trying to talk because the air would be trying to force it through my nose or something. A couple of weeks ago, I had this same thing with an extremely sore throat. The doctor prescribed me an antibiotic, even though the rapid strep test was negative. My throat is no longer sore, but I cough up a LOT of phlegm every morning. It resides in the same place...a little in the nose, none in the throat...but a lot of that unknown area (not sure what to call it) between the nose and throat. If I breathe in very heavily through my nose and then try to clear my throat, it brings that phlegm up - and it's almost like a glue-like consistency. Probably a few tablespoons or more each morning. I am healthy, otherwise...never any medical problems. I'm only 27, so fairly young still. I keep myself in good shape physically and try to eat decent food. The antibiotic that I was prescribed about 12 days ago (which I'm done with now - it was 10 days worth) was Amoxicillin 800mg taken twice per day. What would cause a persistent amount of phelgm in the upper throat/nasal cavity? In the 9 months that I've worked there, I haven't always had this. It sort of came and went, sometimes worse than others. Like for instance this morning, I woke up and felt it in the area between the throat and nose. I coughed a lot of phlegm up, my throat and post nasal cavity feels a little sore since that's where the phlegm was apparently just sitting every night. It'll be sore for a few hours, and then it goes away. Also, sometimes there is a little bit of either old or fresh blood with the phlegm...apparently because it just sat in that area and irritated it so much by being there that it caused it to be raw and bleed a little. It doesn't make it difficult to breathe at other times...on "clear" days it's fine. I also don't have some of the symptoms (or even half) that I saw listed for COPD. It's only difficult to breathe because of the phlegm trying to receive out - which I've also had happen with common colds for years and years.
Hi ya Im doing a college project and i'm on one of the last phases of it and its the financial side of it (which isn't my strong point). The project is we are leasing a Opticians in the Shopping Centre in Limerick the retail unit is 3,500 square feet. I have to do a trading profit and loss account for year 1 and i also have to do a Balance Sheet. This has to be done for the first 3 years. But im stuck on the fixtures and fitting in the balance sheet as this is the only fixed asset i will have. What equipment does an opticians need and what are there prices?? Is it better to pretend to buy the equipment or lease?? Besides the equipment what else would a opticians need and how much would they cost. In euros if ya can. im 26 years old im a fully qualified carpenter and have just been accepted into university to do an honours degree in building studies in anticipation of eventualy qualifying and becoming a site manager. however, due to the current downturn in the economic climate here in the U.K i have been out of a job for some months, in addition to that i dont paticularly like working as a carpenter ( never have) which has guide my to find work else where. i have just been offered a job in retail, this is a totaly unskilled position with a low wage this makes me feel as if i am lowering myself by doing this job. i need money to pay for university and living costs but feel like im going backwards as before whilst working a carpenter ( age 20-25) i would earn a very good wage, have nice things and spend when i like! now at 26 although studying i work in a clothes store with a low wage...... should i feel as though im letting myself down? and if so should i just keep trying to receive carpentry work untill something comes up? even though i dnt like it? thanks guys.

...They basically hate me and think I'm stupid. I work in a retail store on the high road and did my training in that store. I am now qualified but still face alot of resistance from people when I ask for things to be done. I have informed by store manager but their response was to suck it up and not complain and be authoritative, basically not very supportive. I have considered that their resistance might be down to me and my behavior and asked them how I should be different and changed to their requests but I still receive resistance. I'm now doubting myself and my ability, especially when every new I change goes unnoticed even tho it has boosted sales and improved customer experience. I now find myself being less motivated or bothered what happens in the store. Another girl has now been nominated to be trained up to manager level and I'm beginning to feel paranoid only because I perceive her to be better than me and worried that the resistance from staff will effect me being noticed for a promotion. Any suggestions on how to crush resistance from staff? and how to receive that buzz back in how I feel about my work?

Is it trespassing to walk behind retail buildings, say like Wal-Mart, Staples, etc. I am asking because I found a nice, new walking route that goes in a big loop in a shopping complex but it goes behind a bunch of buildings, including some retail ones, where like the loading docks, dumpsters are and stuff. I been doing it for a week without any issues (no one said anything). There are not any "No Trespassing" signs or anything of the sort that I can look. I don't loiter or hang aorund, I just pass through and stay away from the buildings. I am only a bit concerned because my pal told me I shouldn't do that, saying it is illegal and I'll receive fined. Your Question More than a friendship...or just in my head? I have this pal of mine that I've known for about 4 years now. I worked at the same chain retail store, but a different location. I caught notice of him when he stated he had recognized me from before shopping in his store. First glance, I knew I always wanted to be more than friends. He has attended my high school graduation a few years back, gone to July 4th fireworks together, bought gifts for each other, movies, dinners, trips to San Francisco a couple times, and so forth. There have been a couple times where I have asked him for us to be more than friends but it seems like he gives me excuses. A couple of them, "Jacqueline, we are only friends. You gave me the pal vibe when we first met. I don't understand...you deserve a guy so much better than me. What do you possibly look in me?" Another time at a later date, about a year and half back Jay tried persistently while he was drunk to make a move on me. He started making out with me, but I shot him down because he was drunk. Shortly after that incident, about a month later while I was at work I received a couple voice mails on my cell concerned about her son's whereabouts. Jay did call home, but stated to his mom that he was walking to the airport where I work because I am the only one that cares about him deeply and loves him. One time I did not go to the store with him because I was sitting in his sister's room having a great personal conversation. "C'mon Jacqueline! Are you going to the store with me or not?" I politely answer no, that I'm comfortable and I'll still be here when he gets back. He finishes getting ready to go, comes back in the room and says, "Jacqueline, quit playing! Let's go!" I told him no, he left and his sister stated to me at the time that I made him very upset. He came back about an hour later and had very little to say to me. I continued on to go to work that evening. Now about a year after this incident his mom busts him out right when I walked into their home. His mom says, "Tell the girl! she has the right to know, she needs to know! Tell her Jay!" I'm puzzled after just walking through the door 20 seconds prior. he wouldn't say nothing, so his mom tells me that the time where I didn't go to the store with him, that later that night after I left, he got so upset that I didn't go and started crying. "Okay mom, now she knows, can we just move on?" He cried over me not going to the store with him...? Why so? The most recent incident was yesterday evening when I was driving back from the San Francisco bay area after visiting a pilot pal of mine. I received a called from him, he was questioning my whereabouts, then he was like, "...I know every your closest friends. Must be more than a good pal to steer 200 miles just to look him for a few hours." I elaborated a little more to him that it was only 80 miles each way, and I was trying to look a best pal of mine and also my networking pilot pal for help with the start of my aviation career. Seems like a little jealous possibly? There have been other tiny incidents like when we go out to dinner and he will say, "I don't want the waiter to be spitting in our food-adding their possess special recipe. Look at that interracial couple..." imitating the worse case scenario of a waiter's ideas (in his frame of thought). He did start working at the airport recently in the same terminal, but a different airline, always concerned what time I'm coming to work and when I receive a break. His mom calls me her daughter-in-law and he is okay with me calling her "Mom". He's even suggested it out of his mouth that it is okay...though I have never called her "mom" yet. The whole family loves me, even his nieces, nephews, and aunts. We talk about every day, and typically at least 30min a day on the phone, not including if we hangout at work later that day, then he wants me to call him when I receive home to make sure I receive in okay. And yes, there are a few text messages throughout the day as well. Does it seem like he likes/loves me? Does he care for me as a pal? How about more than a pal? Is it just in my head? Hi Sounds a daft question but i purchased an item from a retail store. They have a no questions asked refund policy as long as you return the item 'within 14 calender days". I bought this items 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday at approx 5pm I tried to return the item Wed morning around 9.30am. The store advised i was not within 14 calender days as this the 14 days expires on the tues night at 11.59pm Does seem like a daft question i know, but technically i tried to return my item 13 days and 15 hours later. Is the store correct is saying this is more than 14 calender days? They seem to count the time i purchased it as 12.01am on the day of purchase even thought it wasn't purchased till 5pm. Anyone know from a legal standpoint whether the the store is correct and the 14 days in effect starts before i've actually purchased the thing? I've applied for a job at Mcdonalds, don't make fun, because this would be my first job, and I'm really freaking out that I won't receive the job. Anyway, I got invited for an interview and an OJE. I was wondering if you could help me by reading these answers to basic interview questions, and give me your feedback on them? -why do you want a job (in general) To gain more customer service skills, and to become more independent. -why McDonalds? Because I want to become apart of the team where the logo is known world wide, and I believe I can go far in the future, working at McDonalds. -how do you handle stress I usually don't receive stressed out, but when I receive slightly stressed, I just take a deep breath, and I'll feel okay again. -any previous experience I worked in a retail store for work experience, learnt a lot more about customer service. Also, I am currently taking a catering and hospitality course, where it is essential that I serve customers in our cafe, so that I can receive a taste of the customer service skills needed in the food industry. I know I lack experience, but I am definitely willing to learn. -give an example of a situation where you have had to make an important decision When we were doing Christmas Dinner at our college cafe, I had to make an important decision because we ran out of Yorkshire Puddings. It was either send dinners out with no Yorkshire puddings or quickly make some more. I made the decision to make some more because that is what the customer asked for. -if you were on your break in the back and saw a trash needed to be changed what would you do (a-change it right away b-change it when you were back from your break or c-just leave it isn't your job) I would change it right away because it is my store as much as everyone else’s and I want to help in any way possible. -what is the most important part of costumer service in your opinion Eye contact, a friendly tone of voice, good listening skills and smiles, because these qualities will make the customers feel welcome, and want to recommend McDonalds to their friends and families. Good example of customer service I dealt with an unsatisfied customer (product was broken) so I apologized for the inconvenience and got him a new one, I then asked him if there was anything else I could help him with. Bad customer service One time I went to a shoe store with my friends, and the lady who was serving us was quite rude. She didn’t grin, didn’t offer any help, and didn’t look approachable. I haven’t been to that shoe store since. Strengths I am trustworthy, honest, and have good communication skills. I also work very well in a team. Weaknesses Some of my friends would say that I am over friendly, and go too far out of my way to help people. Would you hire me with these answers? Any tips at interviews and OJE's are very welcome. I am looking into working towards a retail management position in the future, specifically in the winter sports industry. I currently work in a ski/snowboard store, and this is my second season as a sales associate. I have been looking into college programmes in my area. I found Ski Resort Operations course. Would this course be worth the two years? Any help would be much appreciated.

thinking about dropping track and field and receive a job in a car store or in retail. Will colleges look down on this for not sticking with my sport?
okay please i dont want a list of... lawn mower, dog walker, pet sitter, etc. because i know i can receive working papers at age 14 at my town hall and i know there ARE jobs out there. preferably in retail or an icecream store. im in like colonie ny or even delmar i can receive a job. also is there anyway i can receive a job at the mall or somthing? thanks!!
